Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Blue Wahoos
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos faced a tough opponent in Frisco pitcher Kent Lawinger, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Rebels Ballpark by a final score of 5-4. Lawinger went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Pensacola reliever Sid Cantrell was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Michael Gross. Picking up the save was Chet Eisold, his 12th.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Jacob Ballard was at the plate when Pensacola scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Blue Wahoos to go in front, 5-4.

"Good win for us," said Ballard. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."

With the win, Pensacola has a record of 21-18. Frisco falls to 22-17.
