Hooks Take Tight Tangle
The Corpus Christi Hooks picked up a win at Whataburger Field, dropping the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, 4-3, in 12 innings. Gage Friedman, who is tied for 6th in the SL in strikeouts with 44, was the difference-maker. The winner was Corpus Christi reliever Luke Melchior, now 5-2. The loser was Raynel Rodríguez. Corpus Christi is now 25-12, Northwest Arkansas 12-25.

The Hooks got a clutch hit from right fielder Sam Paige. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Hooks.

"I still think this team can play even better," Paige told the Corpus Christi Daily.
