In a close game at Biloxi Grounds, the Biloxi Shuckers edged the Shreveport Engineers, 5-4. Biloxi left fielder Denny Mendez stood apart with his performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Shuckers now have a record of 16-21 with the win over Shreveport.
Carson Cheek aided the Biloxi cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
