The Biloxi Shuckers had to overcome a fine performance from Shreveport pitcher Dean Clapp to grab a 3-2 win at Biloxi Grounds. Clapp allowed no runs over 6 innings. Luis Butler came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-3. Biloxi is in 8th place in the Southern League Southeast Division with a record of 17-21.

Kevin Matsuoka was the walk-off hero for Biloxi. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Shuckers designated hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Matsuoka said in his postgame press conference.
