Both teams had their chances, but the Tulsa Drillers eventually prevailed.

The Tulsa Drillers topped the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 6-5, at Hammons Field. Tulsa first baseman Sterling Gillion was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Paddy Errington picked up the win in relief for Tulsa, while Reinaldo Pakingan took the loss.

The Drillers got a big at-bat from third baseman Carter Dumond. For the game, Dumond was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Tulsa a 6-5 lead.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Tulsa manager Isaiah Paulsen.
