Biscuits Go Down to Defeat, 3-0
|
José Sánchez pitched well, but his team, the Montgomery Biscuits, still dropped a 3-0 decision to the Tennessee Smokies at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The winner was Tennessee reliever Marco Melendez, now 3-0. The loser was José Sánchez. Noah Schneider was called on to finish, recording his 7th save.
Michel Morales, the 25-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Morales contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Tennessee up, 2-0.
"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Morales. "And vice-versa."
The 5th-place Smokies are now 23-22, the Biscuits 27-18.
