The Halifax Frigates got a superb performance from pitcher Miró Leal. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Wichita. The Pilots won the game, 6-1. Leal threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs. Wichita reliever Lincoln Rudder picked up the win, while Miró Leal took the loss for Halifax. Wichita improves to 8-7 as they look to defend their championship.

Pepper Payne, who is tied for 7th in the EL in runs scored with 11, aided the Wichita cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman went 1-4 with a home run and a walk.

"No time for flexing," said Payne. "It's always one game at a time."
