The first-place Shreveport Engineers picked up another win.

Getting a good performance from shortstop Mathias Fortin, the Shreveport Engineers defeated the Frisco RoughRiders, 4-3. Fortin went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks for the Engineers. Josh Gioia picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Raj Reddy was tagged with the loss.

Oscar Acosta's at-bat in the bottom of the third inning was a big one for Shreveport. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Shreveport trailing 1-0, the first baseman hit a run-scoring single.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Fortin told the Shreveport Citizen.

Shreveport is now 32-13, while Frisco is 26-19.
