Aces Hold Off Trash Pandas, 4-3

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Alexandria Aces got the win.
The Alexandria Aces topped the Rocket City Trash Pandas, 4-3, in Southern League action at Blue Wahoos Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Alexandria pitcher and Santa Teresa, Venezuela, native A.J. Acuña. The save was credited to Mal Radford, his 10th.
Roden Abood drove in one run for Alexandria. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Ulli Putz. It was his 16th RBI of the season.
After the game, Alexandria manager Bryan Dedmon applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
Alexandria is now 20-35, while Rocket City is 25-30.
