Engineers Get Clonked by Travelers, 5-2
|
A 3-RBI performance from Benedict Parlett, the 24th overall pick in the 2046 draft, helped the Arkansas Travelers beat the Shreveport Engineers, 5-2. Picking up the win was Patrick Napier. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The left--hander struck out 6 and walked 1. Hayden Gutkin finished to wrap up his 18th save.
J.R. Clegg had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Arkansas first baseman hit a run-scoring single. That put the Travelers in front, 5-2.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Parlett told the Arkansas Bulletin.
The win lifted the Arkansas record to 38-22.
