Trash Pandas Suffer 6-5 Setback
Northwest Arkansas catcher Nicol Cook contributed significantly to his team's 6-5 win over the Rocket City Trash Pandas. Cook went 1 for 3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Naturals. Gabe Nichols came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now stands at 3-3. Levi Gonzales finished the game for Northwest Arkansas and earned his 1st save.

Had Ezra Oyola not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Oyola hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Naturals.

"Nice to get this one," said Cook. "We've been scuffling."

Northwest Arkansas's record now stands at 18-40, placing them last in the Southern League Texas Division.
