|
Montgomery beat Rocket City on the strength of starter Jeremy Reed's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. The winning pitcher was Reed, now 4-3. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Earning his 2nd save of the year was A.J. Mizutani.
The Biscuits got a big hit from shortstop Yorbis Pérez. In the bottom of the fifth, Pérez pounded a 3-run home run to right-center. His 4th home run of the season put the Biscuits ahead, 5-1.
After the game, Pérez refused to speak to a reporter for the Montgomery Gazette. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."
The loss makes Rocket City 27-35.
