The Shreveport Engineers knocked off the Midland RockHounds, 8-2, in Southern League action at Engineers Ballpark. Shreveport pitcher and Phoenix, Arizona, native Rich Gayle had an outstanding performance. The Engineers now have a record of 43-19.

Dominic Roseborough had a big 2-run home run for the Engineers in the bottom of the second inning. With Shreveport leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Usman Etebo and swatted a home run to left. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Engineers ahead, 3-0.

"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Roseborough.
