Engineers Stick Missions with 6-2 Loss
|
The Shreveport Engineers topped the San Antonio Missions, 6-2, in Southern League action at Engineers Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Shreveport pitcher and Raleigh, North Carolina, native Logan Lepak. The winning pitcher was Lepak, now 8-3. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. The first-place Engineers raised their record to 42-20.
The Engineers got an important contribution from catcher Alex Vose, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 1-2 sinker into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Engineers ahead, 3-0.
Vose attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
