Tight Tilt Goes to Hooks, 3-2
|
The Corpus Christi Hooks overcame a fine performance by Midland third baseman Tedd Uribe to defeat the RockHounds, 3-2, at Security Bank Ballpark. Uribe was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Corpus Christi is now 36-31.
Mike Stengel, the 25-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Stengel contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Corpus Christi up, 3-0.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Corpus Christi manager Ramon Guerrero.
