Biscuits Chew Up Naturals, Spit Out 14-1 Win
|
The Montgomery Biscuits easily defeated the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, 14-1, at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, with third baseman Kayle Roth a main contributor to the win. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for Montgomery. Montgomery pitcher Paolo Gobbo earned the win, hiking his record to 3-1. C.J. Franco suffered the loss. The losses continue to mount for Northwest Arkansas, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Derek Meyer, who is tied for 3rd in the SL in RBI with 51, chipped in a grand slam home run for Montgomery in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 5 RBI.
