Maddock Stars for Travelers in 7-5 Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 23-year old left fielder Doug Maddock helped the Arkansas Travelers beat the Tennessee Smokies, 7-5. Arkansas reliever Logan Rumbaugh picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Tyler Peterson shouldered the loss. At 44-25, the Travelers find themselves in second place in the Southern League Texas Division.
Maddock had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-0 cutter from Tyler Peterson, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Travelers a 7-5 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Maddock.
"We'll savor this win," Maddock told the Arkansas Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."
