Travelers Handed 6-5 Loss by Chattanooga
|
The Chattanooga Scouts and Arkansas Travelers obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
Chattanooga beat Arkansas at AT&T Field, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Wayne Weber. He was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Randy Laity was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 17 save opportunities.
Hee-Joon Gang hit a 2-run home run off Josh Boice in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Scouts ahead, 6-5. In addition to the homer, Gang had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"In this profession, you've got to put the good and the bad behind you quickly," Arkansas skipper George French said.
The 5th-place Scouts now have a win-loss record of 39-33.
