Hooks Knock Off Scouts, 7-1
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Chattanooga Scouts and Corpus Christi Hooks get after it.
The Corpus Christi Hooks defeated the Chattanooga Scouts, 7-1, at Whataburger Field today. Leading the charge for Corpus Christi was shortstop Mike Stengel. He was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Motokuni Kobayashi, now 3-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings.
Stengel had a key at-bat for Corpus Christi early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 12th double of the season and gave Corpus Christi an early 2-1 lead.
"I just try to be a dog, have good swings, good at-bats," said Stengel.
Chattanooga's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
