Montgomery third baseman Yorbis Pérez helped his team beat the Mississippi Braves, 7-5. Pérez went 2 for 3 for the Biscuits. Jensen Spagna picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Chris Royster was tagged with the loss. Henry Wolfe earned the save for Montgomery, his 11th of the year.

Montgomery needed the clutch hitting of Robin Williamson to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Biscuits on top, 7-5. For the game, Williamson had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

Pérez told the Montgomery Gazette: "Don't care what other people think. Yorbis knows who Yorbis is."

The Biscuits now own a record of 36-36.
