Andujar Villarreal, who is tied for 3rd in the SL in RBI with 51, led Shreveport to a triumph over Corpus Christi. The final score was 8-0. The first baseman went 3 for 4, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 2 runs and added 3 RBI. Shreveport is now 34-37.

With Shreveport leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Villarreal hit a fastball from Leary Rice for a run-scoring double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Engineers ahead, 2-0.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Villarreal told reporters after the game.
