Flying Squirrels Handled by Alexandria, 6-4
|
The Alexandria Aces topped the St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels, 6-4, at Blue Wahoos Stadium. Alexandria left fielder Enos Antcharakyan was a spark plug for the offense. He went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The Aces are now 33-43, while the Flying Squirrels fall to 43-33.
Antcharakyan had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 sinker from Johnny Rosenwinkel, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Aces a 6-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Antcharakyan.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," Antcharakyan told the Alexandria Herald, "and we played pretty well tonight."
