Missions Victors, 3-0, at Tulsa
|
The San Antonio Missions downed the Tulsa Drillers, 3-0, at Hammons Field. Stellar pitching by Mikey Randall had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, the 22nd overall pick in the 2051 draft, handcuffed his opponent all game. Randall, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing no runs. The save went to Montenegro Quiros, number 9 for him.
The Missions got a big at-bat from first baseman Gauge Underhill. For the game, Underhill was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave San Antonio a 2-0 lead.
Underhill told a San Antonio Observer reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
The losses continue to mount for Tulsa, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
