Missions Saddle Smokies with 1-0 Loss
|
Right-hander Paul Sutton mesmerized the Tennessee Smokies while leading the San Antonio Missions to a 1-0 victory. Sutton, now 1-5, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 2, walking 4, and allowing no runs. The loss makes Tennessee 29-47.
The Missions got a big at-bat from second baseman B.J. Lantz. For the game, Lantz was 1-2 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave San Antonio a 1-0 lead.
"That's baseball," said Tennessee manager George Chappelear. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
