Tennessee Loses, 6-2, to Mississippi in 14
|
The Mississippi Braves faced a tough opponent in Tennessee pitcher Isaac DeCarlo, but still scratched out a win at Smokies Park by a final score of 6-2 in 14 innings. DeCarlo went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The defeat makes Tennessee 37-38.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jackson Ahlberg? The 22-year old center fielder Ahlberg stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 14th inning to put Mississippi up, 4-2. For the game, he was 3 for 7, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
"We had a nice day," said Mississippi skipper Sandy Estrada.
