Berg Socks 2 Home Runs in 6-1 Arkansas Win
|
The Arkansas Travelers topped the Frisco RoughRiders by a score of 6-1. Leading the way was center fielder Brendan Berg. Berg was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for the Travelers. Jean Aleman was the winner. Over 6 innings, he yielded 1 run on 3 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. The Travelers now own a record of 47-27.
Benny Ramos had a big run-scoring double for the Travelers in the bottom of the first inning. With Arkansas leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Jake Szilvas and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Travelers ahead, 2-0.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Berg said. "That's why you play the game."
