Scouts Deal Travelers 2-0 Defeat
|
Micah Stanley never let Arkansas get something going. The Chattanooga right-hander commanded his cutter in pitching the Scouts to a 2-0 win. Anson Alvizo notched his 15th save in 16 chances. The 5th-place Scouts improved to 36-43.
It could have been a different outcome for Chattanooga, had it not been for Powell McIver, the 27-year old left fielder . McIver contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Chattanooga up, 2-0.
McIver was in a reflective mood after the contest. He told the Chattanooga Gazette, "Every game is it's own challenge. That's what keeps the competitive fire alive."
