New Hampshire Tags Erie with 4-2 Defeat
|
Erie got a decent performance from pitcher Jace Seney, but it wasn't enough to beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. New Hampshire won the Jerry Uht Park contest, 4-2. Seney threw 7.1 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. Alfonso Espinoza earned the save for New Hampshire, his 2nd of the year. With the win, New Hampshire improves its record to 15-4.
New Hampshire used the bat of Severo Miyares to get the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Fisher Cats ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
In postgame remarks, Miyares said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
