Alexandria Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The Alexandria Aces besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Rocket City catcher Joel Marler by beating the Trash Pandas, 8-7, at Blue Wahoos Stadium. Marler was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. The win went to Ray Goodwin in relief. His record improves to 3-5. Wes Gilmore took the loss. Alexandria has a record of 38-43, placing them 6th in the Southern League Texas Division.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Alexandria shortstop Nate Vicente, facing Wes Gilmore, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Aces the 8-7 win.

"It's great when the crowd is energized," Vicente said.
