The Halifax Frigates beat the Portland Sea Dogs, 14-4, at MGM Park. The Frigates got a fine performance from first baseman Sidney Matthews, who was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The loss drops Portland to 6-11.

Halifax took a 10-4 lead on Matthews's 2nd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Matt Marco in the bottom of the eighth, propelled Halifax to the win.

"Sidney is still learning," said Frigates manager Leo Olvera. "The sky's the limit for him."
