The Corpus Christi Hooks besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Pensacola designated hitter Seth McGinnis by beating the Blue Wahoos, 5-2, at Rebels Ballpark. McGinnis was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. The winner was Corpus Christi reliever Nick Sarkozi, now 6-4. The loser was Max Fagundes. The Hooks saw their win-loss record go to 52-31. At the same time, the Blue Wahoos fell to 46-37.

Jacob Sanches had a big 2-run home run for the Hooks in the top of the second inning. With Corpus Christi leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a changeup from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Max Fagundes and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Hooks on top, 3-0.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Corpus Christi manager Brian O'Kray.
