RockHounds Curb Aces, 3-1
|
Alexandria got a decent performance from pitcher Rubio Montez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Midland RockHounds. Midland won the Blue Wahoos Stadium contest, 3-1. Montez threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. With the win over Alexandria, the RockHounds improved to 30-55.
Midland used the timely hitting of J.R. Gilman to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the RockHounds on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
Midland manager T.J. Saddler praised his team's "energy."
