Frigates Topple Sea Dogs, 7-3
|
The 7-3 Halifax win over Portland was due largely to Cayden Magness. The Frigates shortstop went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Roberto Feliz earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 3-1. Halifax is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 5th win in 19 games.
Magness had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 3-1 fastball from Matt Marco, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Frigates a 7-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Magness.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Magness.
