Behind a solid performance from right fielder Ian Miller, the Corpus Christi Hooks defeated the Mississippi Braves, 10-2. Miller went 2 for 4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Hooks. Trey Pommier got the win, improving to 5-6. He held the Braves to 1 run on 3 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The Hooks now have a record of 43-42 with the win over Mississippi.
The Hooks got a big at-bat from third baseman Carlos Ramírez. For the game, Ramírez was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Corpus Christi a 3-1 lead.
