Hooks Top Braves, 7-1
|
The Corpus Christi Hooks defeated the Mississippi Braves, 7-1, at Whataburger Field today. Leading the charge for Corpus Christi was first baseman Vincent Ding. He went 3-3 with 3 singles. The triumph puts Corpus Christi at 45-42 for the season.
Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Whataburger Field seemed to enjoy watching the Southern League action.
"I thought we were prepared," Mississippi manager Derek Campbell said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
