Portland Sea Dogs starter Monty Mitter was dealing. He helped his team knock off the Halifax Frigates, 3-2. Jack Wiegand closed it out for his 1st save. Halifax is 10-9 after the loss.

Portland used the timely hitting of Jayden Paine to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sea Dogs on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Tough loss," said Halifax manager Hipolito Peña. "But we'll learn from it."
