Southpaw Pitches Engineers to 2-1 Win
|
The Shreveport Engineers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Dean Clapp, who kept Midland hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Engineers win at Engineers Ballpark. Juan Cisneros converted his 19th save in 21 tries. The win lifted the Shreveport record to 66-23.
Clapp was effective for Shreveport, seldom allowing the RockHounds to square up a pitch. The left-hander tossed 87 pitches over 7.1 innings. He limited Midland to just 1 run on 3 hits.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Midland manager Edgar Mendoza, "let me know."
