Ravens Stick RubberDucks with 5-2 Loss
|
New Haven and Akron got after it at Canal Park.
New Haven Ravens starter Jonah Allen pitched his team past the Akron RubberDucks, 5-2. Allen went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 2-1. Pax Huang picked up the save for New Haven, his 1st of the year.
An important at-bat for the Ravens came in the top of the fifth, when third baseman James Ayala stroked a 2-run single. That made the score 3-0 in favor of New Haven. For the day, Ayala went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs.
"This team is on a mission," said Allen, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
