SeaWolves Suffer 6-3 Loss to Frigates
|
Halifax pitcher Kolton Fletcher had a large part in his team beating the Erie SeaWolves, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Fletcher, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 5.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 3 walks. Frank Szalai got credit for the save for Halifax. It was his 7th of the year.
The Frigates got a big at-bat from third baseman Nelson Karp. For the game, Karp went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Halifax a 3-0 lead.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Karp.
The win takes Halifax to 12-11.
