The 2052 season is off to a good start for the Ahwatukee Roughnecks. The hometown Roughnecks knocked off the Mesa Saguaros, 2-1, at Roughnecks Ballpark. Ahwatukee designated hitter Luca Preuninger paced his team to the win. The winner was Jake Robertson in relief. His record improves to 1-0. J.D. Garcia took the loss.

Matt Williamson was the walk-off hero for Ahwatukee. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Roughnecks right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Mike Silva.
