Gales Take Down Sun Dogs, 8-5
|
Fans of the Hialeah Gales who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Hialeah win over the visiting Miramar Sun Dogs, 8-5. Josh Witmer started for the home team against Derek Bauman. Ivory Herring earned accolades for his performance.
In the bottom of the 11th, Daniel Miller had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a 3-run home run to left-center off Miramar pitcher C.J. Becker.
"This wasn't a good win," said Miller. "It was a great win."
