Ahwatukee Roughnecks center fielder Walt Olvera had a day to remember at Torts Ballpark, ripping apart the Kingman Torts and sparking the 16-6 Roughnecks win.

Olvera wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-7.

"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Olvera told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."

Walt Olvera flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
