In a low-scoring tilt between the Sedona Steers and the Flagstaff Blue Devils, 19-year old left-handed pitcher Trent Akins was the difference-maker. The Sedona left-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. The winner was Akins. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Jason Holly. Armando Sánchez earned the save for Sedona, his 1st.

Sedona used a clutch at-bat from Luís Sánchez to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Steers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
