Steveson Helps Pride Defeat Geckos, 8-5
The Peoria Pride knocked off the Gilbert Geckos, 8-5, at Camelback Ranch. Woody Steveson was a big reason Peoria won. The second baseman went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. John Dibling earned save number 1 this season. With the win, Peoria climbs to 3-0.

Dan Kimpel had a big 2-run double for the Pride in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Peoria leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 19-year old left-handed pitcher Jim Strausbaugh and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pride ahead, 5-2.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Juan Ybarra said.
