Ballpark of Oviedo was the site of a tense game between the Scottsdale Salamanders and Oviedo Catch.

Dustin Cale pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Scottsdale Salamanders, despite Cale's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Oviedo Catch at Ballpark of Oviedo. Jacob Van Patten notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Mohamed Bruno nailed down his 1st save.

Oviedo grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Oliver Pimentel delivered a 2-run single, to make it 2-0 in favor of the Catch.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Pimentel told the Oviedo Daily News.

With the loss, Scottsdale sinks to 1-2.
