Gauchos Win at Kissimmee, 2-0
|
Rhino Robinson was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Glendale and Kissimmee. The Gauchos left-hander helped his team beat the Kumquats, 2-0. The winning pitcher was Robinson, now 1-0. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 8. Glendale has a record of 1-3.
The Gauchos got a big hit from right fielder Robby Chavez. In the top of the ninth, Chavez pounded a solo home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season put the Gauchos ahead, 2-0.
Afterward, Gauchos manager Tony Coto was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
