The Somerset Patriots knocked off the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 8-7, at NYSEG Stadium. Tim Powell was a big reason Somerset won. The right fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Binghamton now has a record of 15-11.

Somerset used a clutch hit from José Maria Vásquez to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Patriots ahead, 8-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
