Quahogs Edge Gauchos, 2-1

Buckeye starter Joel Bowens kept the Glendale offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his fastball in leading the Quahogs to a 2-1 win. Andy Piper collected his 4th save. The win puts Buckeye at 5-3.
Yoakin Sarmiento delivered a big hit for Buckeye. The catcher drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Quahogs ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"This was a game where every at-bat, every pitch counted," said Sarmiento.
