Mobley, Gnomes Too Much for Swordfish
|
Gnomes right fielder Rodrick Mobley put his stamp on his team's 11-8 win over the Florence Swordfish. Mobley went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 8 runs and scored twice for Yuma in the contest. The winning pitcher was Brad Nipper. He's now 1-0. He went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits for the Gnomes. Getting the save was Tony Wilson, his 1st.
Mobley contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Yuma in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Mobley took a fastball from Chad Thomas Jr. and stroked the home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Gnomes to leap in front, 4-1.
"This game had a little bit of everything," said Mobley.
The win gives Yuma a record of 1-4.
