Glendale Rallies for 6-3 Victory
|
The Glendale Gauchos racked up a win at Maryvale Baseball Park, bumping off the Phoenix Armadillos, 6-3. Jethro Ramos, who started for Glendale, pitched effectively for his team. Ramos, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Phoenix drops to 6-8.
Glendale took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Geraldo Lugo hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Gauchos in front, 3-1.
"Jethro was aggressive right out of the chute," said Glendale manager Tony Coto.
