Mata Helps Ravens Run Win Streak to 5

The New Haven Ravens trumped the Altoona Curve, 10-4, at The Ballpark at Jackson. New Haven shortstop Josiah Mata was terrific. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. New Haven reliever Katsutoshi Ikeda picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Zach Holst absorbed the loss. New Haven, now 19-8, has played well in the early going.
Zach Leddy, who is tied for 10th in the EL with a .924 OPS, chipped in for New Haven with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
